JEFFREY L. SMOOT

Jeff Smoot is the founding member of Westwood Pacific Law PLLC. His practice as a lawyer is focused on helping individuals and business clients in a variety of matters including bankruptcy, receivership, debt resolution, business restructuring, partnership disputes, real estate matters, family disputes, and related litigation. Jeff frequently presents at legal education seminars on issues including creditor rights, bankruptcy reorganization, legal ethics, and dispute resolution. He served on the Washington State Bar Association Law Clerk Board which he chaired in 2014-2015, and has been recognized by his peers as a "Super Lawyer" in 2020-2026.

 

Jeff is also a Certified Mediator who serves on federal mediation panels in Washington and Hawai'i. He is available to serve as a third-party neutral in a variety of matters including civil, commercial, divorce, estate, and family disputes. BEBE M. BALES

Bebe Bales is an Associate Attorney with the firm.  She has over a decade of practical experience, is licensed in Washington and California, and represents clients in the firm’s main practice areas: litigation, bankruptcy and restructuring, business, real estate, probate, estate planning, and family law, as well as business representation and guidance for startups, entrepreneurs, and family businesses. Prior to joining the firm, Bebe worked for a California firm focused on a range of business, real estate, and family law matters with an emphasis on integral business transactions, legal research and analysis, corporate and regulatory compliance, contract drafting and negotiation, and premarital asset protection.  She received her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and her LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

 

In addition to representing clients, Bebe serves as Director of Compliance & Policy for a large ice sports conglomerate and teaches courses in Business and Law at the University of Washington, Michael G. Foster School of Business, Bothell School of Business, and Bellevue College.  She is also a passionate supporter of social causes and access to justice.  She previously worked with several social justice organizations including the Seattle Community Law Center, Legal Aid of Sonoma County, and the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Justice and Diversity Center; and launched and led the first victim’s rights coalition in San Francisco.
